Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

This position is responsible performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the business goals and objectives.

 

Job Functions

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. List any other qualifications (if needed) not mentioned below that are necessary.

  • Communication Skills- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to understand and correctly use terms and vocabulary common to the construction field.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a benefit.
  • Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to take measurements, use various scale conversions as well as determine special restrictions.
  • Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability assess and resolve minor problems.

 

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

 

Certifications

  • Proven maintenance experience.
  • Related degree from a technical college.

 

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work in physically demanding jobs, including standing, kneeling, bending, lifting 50+ pounds regularly and working at varying heights.
