The build at a glance

What we did

Travis Painting finished the building inside and out. Full exterior, all interior surfaces, and ceiling spray through the main sanctuary. In the preschool wing, the crew installed cork wall covering so teachers can pin student work straight to the walls, a finish detail most painting subs never touch. Travis Millwork built custom benches and built-in pieces throughout the facility. Both crews ran the job at the same time and sequenced around each other, so the schedule never stalled waiting on a handoff.
The hard part wasn’t the painting. It was reaching what needed to be painted.”

The Challenges

Access drove this job. The sanctuary stage floor was finished and in place before painting started, and it could not carry a boom lift. The crew had to work out lift positioning that reached the high back wall above the stage without ever loading the stage floor. Outside, a stair-stepped grade along one side of the building kept equipment from getting close, and stretches of bad weather cut into boom time. The crews adjusted sequencing to keep the interior moving while the exterior waited out the sky.
